Joi

Joi is a multi-faceted artist, scientist, and a mother from Los Angeles.

She also is a certified Twitter OG. Once Elon Musk mandates that non-wealthy people can only follow 25 people on the free plan of “X formerly known as Twitter,” Joi would be in my Top 25 (shoutout Tom and Myspace). Joi is hilarious and it is always Kyler-coded humor - sarcastic, witty, actually funny, with 3-4 Easter Eggs to some form of fandom and/or Black culture. This is the second time that I have had the opportunity to chop it up with Joi on a podcast, and if the universe is in agreement, it absolutely won’t be the last.

If you find yourself as a person with multiple talents and interests (creative, academic, or something else), you are sure to find inspiration in this episode. Joi has a strong ability to turn things she is interested and passionate about into tangible facets of her life. Throughout my time knowing her, I have witnessed an evolution in her art/creativity, hair, and intellectual interests. What hasn’t changed at all? Her character. I’m a big fan of this human and honored to share the planet with her.
