Tenomewah
Tenomewah is a poet, author, and makeup artist from Oakland.
You know having another poet on the podcast was going to lead to a conversation with DEPTH. I have never felt more seen through somebody else’s perspective on the art of poetry and the power of the poet (you gonna wanna get a notepad out for this one). Tenomewah and I just barely missed each other as students at UCSD, and man I wish that wasn’t the case because I can only imagine the poetic impact we would put forward. She is one of the most pro-Black people I know, a powerful writer, and just an overall dope human being. It is my pleasure for you all to join us for plenty of laughs as we discuss her debut poetry book, Shadow Work, the importance of reading (good job if you made it this far), and how artistic it is to exist as a human being.
Oh yeah, did I mention mermaids?
